You can version control packages using simple file export/import or use an external version control system such as Visual Source Safe, cvs, subversion etc....

Take a look at the Help...it should get you going...

you could also turn on the security feature in EA and lock the package in question.

Hi,

Well the project here is a local project.  There is a reference model, overwritten on save. I wanted to avoid any changes to reference package.

Let me try option of security.

Thanks

Hi,

So the question still stands open.

In professional version, how can we set read access to a package or a project ?

I don't think you can, at least not (entirely) within the EA function suite.

The Corporate Edition is pretty much the minimum edition designed for use by teams. The Professional Edition is sort of a more capable version of the Desktop Edition. Teams can certainly make use of it, but advanced features like security and storing models in a DBMS repository are not supported below the Corporate Edition.

For more information see the Compare Editions page on the Sparx Web site.
No, you can't have it!

you would then have to go with the other option, version control.

I think I remember seeing some posts about the integration with clearcase, try searching the forum for it.
This integration probably uses the SCC interface.
There is also some page on the website (or in the user guide) that contains a list of version control system that have been integrated with EA by Sparx or by users.

That table is on the very first page of the Version Contol section in the Enterprise Architect Help. The note against Clear Case is 'Users report success'.
