Management Of Repository EA
« on: November 06, 2012, 01:38:53 am »
Hello Everybody  :),
I need your experience to resolve a problem that confrotes me :

What are the best practises for managing a large number of parallel branches EA within an agile project : 3 versions of application in parallel + sprints in each version?

We work in a DBMS MySQL, and the proposed solution is the use of a repository with manuals reports branch between repository when needed. This solution works but its difficult to maitain and requires careful monitoring  :-/

DO u think that using SVN can add value? or do u have other solutions?

Thank you in advance for your answers ...

There are quite a number of threads here dealing with that topic. In general: you won't find the solution in any of them. CM is a very complex task and you either know by heart (from a former project) or you have to try out various options.

Thank you for your quick reply,

Yes I know that there is no correct answer or final answer to this problem, but all I wanted is to see a few feedback with several methods to determine which method is may suit me the best.

In any case, Can you give me the links to the discussions on this subject? because i did a research and i have not found, I think that can help me as even.

Thank u,
Abdel

Just a hint for researching in this forum: Don't use the 'Search the Forum' field in the upper right corner but the 'Search' button from the upper left row of buttons. This will give way better results ...

2nd hint: extend the search for one year. Searching the full time range takes ages (and in most times results in timeout).

These links only seem to point to a read only copy of this forum so I am not sure they are useful.

They are in the sense that you can search them much easier then the original YABB forum.
