Upgrading v7.5 to 8.0 - what's your experience?

Our office is upgrading EA Ultimate Edition v7.5 to v8.0. We are using a central SQL Server RDBMS with SubVersion version control over a WAN distributed environment.

Has anybody done anything similar and encountered any challenges or have any good preparation advice for tackling such a task?

If you have any french speaking users don't upgrade to V8 but directly to V9
It has a nasty bug that eats spaces typed by french speaking users (who have their windows language set to FR)
Otherwise I had no issues at all.
