show notes on archimate objects
« on: April 15, 2014, 12:54:38 am »
Hello,
okay it's maybe not the norm of Archimate, but I like to put some notes on every objects I create and then activate the "show notes" option on the diagram.

This works fine... except for Archimate objects ! Any suggestion to resolve this ?

Unfortunately the archimate MDG doesn't support that feature. Two options you can consider;
a) Add a note and link it to your archimate shape. Right click on the link and choose "link this note to feature" and choose the notes field. The notes will then be displayed in the newly added note. If you want to hide them and show them the consider using the diagram filters and filter on say phase field by deleting the 1.0 default value in the notes and filter on phase = 1.0.
b) Create your own ArchiMate MDG and add the feature in the scripts for the shapes. This will be a whole lot of work probably more than you are prepared to do.

BTW this is probably the wrong place this post. Should have placed it under the general discussion

Hope that helps
