ClearCase XML Export
« on: March 21, 2022, 08:47:37 pm »
Hi all,
I am currently using the integrated Version Control Mechanisms for ClearCase version control in EA. In my versioned package structure in EA I have a hierarchical structure where versioned packages contain multiple versioned packages too over several layers. Now I am switching to another version control system which is not supported by EA so I need to export/import and version control the packages manually.

So now comes the problem/question.
I could see, that the xml files which were exported by the CC mechanisms in EA do have a different structure/layout than manually exported xml packages (tried several export options). In the CC exported packages, there are references to the versioned "sub-packages". This information is not available in the manually exported ones.
Is there an option to manually trigger the export mechanism which is used by the integrated CC check-in? Or does anybody know the specific format which is used for CC?
I would like to use this mechanism to export the packages manually and bring them on my new version control system.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Philipp

Philip,

If you set the version control system in Package VC to (None) you can work in exactly the same way as before. There is an option to include sub-packages or not.
Having used this option you can export all of your XMI's in one go using Publish | Model Exchange | Batch export controlled packages
