Collaboration diagrams - hiding message detail

Is there some way to hide returns and parameters on collaboration diagram messages?

Strange idea I know but what has happened is that the evolution of the design is now cluttering up the diagram so badly I want to re-present a summary diagram.

The diagram involves 29 objects and 60 odd messages, there are three classes of object and the entire transaction cannot be expressed more simply.  Its a fairly sequential "flow" of messages - in fact there are only 3 message types and each message in the transaction is differentiated by its parameter values.

Each individual sub transaction is being modelled in a separate diagram where we are adding parameter values specific to each section.

However, these parameter values appear on our overall summary diagram and are cluttering it up something special.

All I want to see on the summary diagram is the message type.  What I am looking for is something similar to the "Show Parameter Detail" option on the diagram properties screen.
