A 1..many connector
« on: December 14, 2006, 01:05:35 pm »
How can I share a connector between multiple source or target objects?

Reason I want to do the above,  I have a message with multiple possible sources.  I want to define the properties of the message once (tagged values on a stereotyped connector) and link that same connector to all the source elements that trigger the message.

Can you think of a way?
Thanks,
David.

Can you use the conventions described in section 5.4.3 of the EA User Guide (build 800)? Perhaps this only works for classes, although I think UML recognizes the possibility of other multiple associations.

Otherwise, take a look at SPEM to see if it will help. Last I looked EA had a SPEM metamodel, which seemed to be stuck in permanent beta.
No, you can't have it!
