You can't copy into an existing diagram, but right click on a diagram in the project browser and select 'Copy Diagram'.  Then right click on a package and select 'Paste Diagram'.

Then I would recommend writing an addin to do that because there is no such functionality build into EA.

SN,

can I suggest that you take a look at Time Architect?

http://solutionsreality.com/products/timearchitect/home.aspx

We have just released the sneak peak of version 2.0 that includes element move functionality.

With this you can select elements from anywhere in your model (via the grid interface) and move those elements to a different package/diagram or you can just copy the elements straight to a diagram.

It also adds lots of other functionality too - take a look around the website for full details...

I think that you should find that this does exactly what you are looking for!

The fully functional evaluation version lasts 20 days so this should give you a chance to fully try it!  It is still at the special introductory price of $100 - so give it a try...

Hi sn,

If you're looking to copy a fragment of a diagram to another diagram, then why not do just that. Create a diagram to hold the minimum of the common 'feature' and then create another diagram and pull the original diagram in as a freagment. you can even display the common part of the diagram too in at least a number of cases.
If you have a full diagram and want to work backward to create the fragment etc., then you could copy the diagram and then work on the copy - beware though, some elements are copied, whilst others are common (an example is a note - it doesn't appear in the project browser, but if you copy and paste, it's actually the same note - change one and you change them all!).
