Folder with red lower right corner
« on: January 12, 2015, 12:08:08 pm »
One of the folders that I share via SVN has a reddish lower right corner. What is EA trying to convey to me with this indication?

See help: Project Browser, Icon Overlays.

I think it means that the folder has been marked "read only"

Having said that, every occurrence of a package called "Class Model" in my projects, has that red corner decoration.

There is no version control in use.

No, it definitely is namespace root. Read only is indicated by a padlock icon.

@Roy: In my version of the help (and on the web help) the image claiming to show the icon for namespace root is broken!

The icon is broken, but if you copy it into an editor, you can expand it.

The help clearly shows a red triangle (ish) decoration as one of the three icons that indicate "read only".

Of course neither of these things explain why every occurrence of "Class Model" has this decoration. (In projects that are neither version controlled nor marked "read only")

Are you saying that the second decoration in this set of three, should be on the "namespace root" line?

I think that is intended to show that the padlock is the read only icon (on the left) but that it can be combined with other icons, e.g. the namespace root (middle) and version controlled (right). The namespace root icon in the row above it is broken and should show a package with the red decoration in the bottom right corner (i.e. the middle icon of the following row but without the padlock)

OK. The PADLOCK icon is the common element in the help text.

And the red decoration is namespace root, despite the odd icon in the help.

This is the current icon from the help, expanded:

So the class model is always the namespace root?

It doesn't have to be but I guess it makes sense if you are generating code from the class model :)

I don't know what is going on with the icon in the Help - it looks fine in the source. The expanded icon that AndyJ reproduced for us is totally wrong, and should not be anywhere near that table or the Namespaces description.

Anyway, I have checked that the correct icon is in the source, and I'll keep an eye on the generated Help.

Apologies for the confusion.

Roy,

The code looks correct, but the image (online and in the embedded help) is not correct.

See here for example, this is the image named "namespacerooticon.png":

http://www.sparxsystems.com/enterprise_architect_user_guide/11/images/namespacerooticon.png

Which looks like this:

Sun Tzu: "If you sit by the river long enough, eventually the body of MS Visio floats past."

Yes, but that long blue box depicts the Diagram Toolbox icon for a WSDL Namespace, which is not the appropriate image for the Namespace icon in the Project Browser. That has a different filename, which is correct in the Help source. As I said, I am watching the compiled Help carefully, and any attempt the WSDL icon makes to turn up uninvited in the wrong topic will be met with SEVERE disapproval.

I think we're talking at cross purposes here Roy.

Perhaps that WRONG image in the online help, could be deleted, and the RIGHT image could be put in it's place?

I'm on the 12.0.1202 and that WRONG image is in my embedded help.

The NAME of the image is correct, but the image itself is wrong.

The correct image file IS (now) in the Help source file, depicting a Package icon with a red bottom right corner.
