Using a combination of modifying the z-order and making lanes non-selectable works fine for me.

Using the EA help Search tab, look up "Selectable" (without quotes). The result that cites the Element Context Menu - Multiple Selection is the page you want. Look near the bottom for the explanation of what you need to do.

If any Sparxians are reading this - perhaps Simon or Roy - please update the Help Index tab to point to this page. None of the appropriate entries for Element Context Menu do so, and there are no entries for selectable or non-selectable (regardless of the punctuation or absence thereof). The only index reference to this page is under Context Menu | Element, Multiple Selection. This seems somewhat counterintuitive. [That said, this is a relatively new feature and may have slipped through the cracks when it was added.]

There are now Multiple references to selectable and non-selectable, which options are explained in the Appearance submenu topic. References also take you to the multiple selection menu. Changes apparent with the next release of EA.
Best Regards, Roy

Thanks Roy,

That should go a long way to easing confusion.
