'Convert to Instance' function via API
« on: October 01, 2010, 07:33:25 pm »
Is there any way to, for each diagram object painted on a diagram, convert it to an instance?

Actually we have several sequence diagrams where the elements are showed 'as simple link', not 'as instance of element', and we like to batch convert all them to objects.

The addition of a method like "DiagramObject.ConvertToInstance()" in the EA API may be great for next releases!!

The only problem with this idea is that Convert To Instance functionality - doesn't...

Neil (KP) posted some comments and a question in the thread Paolo cites. Perhaps we (the user community) could come up with the clarifications Neil mentions. That might be the spark [sorry, couldn't resist] to get Sparx to update and clarify both methods.

PS: And just to muddy the waters a bit more: no I have not thought of better names. Sorry, but I'm not much help on that front.

No, you can't have it!
