Hi,

How in EA do I use just a single click to see the data items (in the Features pane) defined on a connector?

On a connector: I right-click and then select ‘Find Items Conveyed’ (which indeed displays the attributes in the Features pane).

Why did EA do things this way that I need to right-click and select a menu command? Why not just select the connector and the attributes appear automatically (like when I click on a port or on a block's flow property)?

Further, when I click something else and then return to click the same connector the attributes have disappeared from the Features pane and I have to right-click etc again, as above.

Thanks
Avi

You can have multiple items conveyed.
So if you select a connector there can be multiple classes that have features. EA wouldn't know which to show.

Hi Geert. Back on this.

When I click on an item flow connector I want to see all the item flows that flow on it.

Just to make sure I know what I am talking about, I tried an experiment:

I created an item flow between two blocks, and EA presented the Information Items Conveyed dlg to add items. So I added two items, and EA accepted them.

So I have an info flow with two items.

Then I want to see what the item flow contains. So I have to right-click the connector and I have to select Find Items Conveyed, and then I have to select just one of them, as you say.

But I do not want to select just one just one of the flow items; I want to select both the items - so both get displayed in the Features window.

And most important, I do not want to have to do so many clicks: right-click + Information Items Conveyed.

There seems to be some concept I am missing. What I am I missing?

Thanks,
Avi

Hi Avi,

The problem there is that EA's browser only has limited multiselect support. You can only multiselect elements if they're in the same package.
Since the elements you convey in an information flow don't have to be located in the same package, EA can't select them directly from the context menu.

My theories are always correct, just apply them to the right reality.

And even if you would be able to select both, you would only see the features of one element.
The features window is not build to support selected elements.
