DOORS MGD
« on: April 24, 2014, 08:51:05 am »
If we are using the DOORS MGD Link. When we do a Synchronization of imported DOORS® modules I assume we will not loose any links we made in EA.

What EA use as it's Key/ID from DOORS to EA. Is it in the t_connector table or t_object table?

Correct.  Any relationships you define in EA between your imported requirements and other elements should remain after performing synchronization.  Just from memory - I think it saves an "Object Identifier" tagged value on each requirement which corresponds to the object id in DOORS.  If a matching Object Identifier tag is found in EA, it synchronizes with that element, if not found, a new requirement element is created.

Element tagged values are stored in t_objectproperties.

Do either the DOORS Absolute Number or the DOORS Object Identifier need to be mapped for the sync to work? Or does EA do the mapping in the background?

DOORS MDG Link takes care of creating the required Object Identifiers. AFAIK the mapping is only for requirement's attributes.
