Couldn't override default toolboxes
« on: November 17, 2015, 02:43:34 am »
Help!

overriding the default UML::Activity toolbox with an MDG Techn. does not work as stated in the documentation. (RedefinedToolbox=UML::Activity ....)

The toolbox shows up on a custom diagram type, if a diagram profile is incorporated.

What am I missing!??

For redefined toolboxes to take effect, you have to set your technology to be the current active technology. Go to "Extensions > MDG Technologies", select your technology in the list and click the "Set Active" button. (There is also a technology listbox in the Default Tools toolbar that does the same thing).

If you have done that and it isn't working, then you can open your technology and a technology that works in a text editor and see if you can spot the difference. I know the ICONIX technology has redefined toolboxes, so have a look at that one. If you've installed EA in the default location, it will be C:\Program Files (x86)\Sparx Systems\EA\MDGTechnologies\ICONIX Technology.xml. Search for "<Options>".

And if all else fails, send in a support request, and don't forget to attach your technology file.

Thank you for your quick response.

Following your hints I found that <Options> are not written when saving toolbox as UML profile. If inserted manually everything works as expected.

Half way done. Seems, that the redefinition clause is ignored in toolbox profile diagram notes.
