Image Transparency (Alpha)
« on: April 18, 2006, 10:17:47 am »
The documentation states that images imported into EA are stored internally in PNG format. However, I noticed that when I import an image into EA, it will not utilize the alpha information in the image.

Am I doing something wrong, or is this the way it works?

Thanks,

Frisky

Yeah, I think the drawing surface doesn't render the alpha - never has.  I think.

I found that I can write out EMF files and get the effect we were looking for.

But, it will sure would be nice to have the Shape scripting and the alpha support for PNG/GIF images.  ;D

Frisky,

I take it that "the effect we were looking for" is only available in some external (to EA) application that consumes the EMF files. Is this correct?

And, regardless of the above, what, if anything, are you doing to the EMF files to get the alpha component? Are you tweaking them from the external app?

No, you can't have it!
