EA performance slowdown over a long session
« on: June 14, 2011, 09:03:58 am »
Do you find EA slows down over a long session?

PS: running EA build 8.0.863 on an XP sp3 laptop (about 3 months old) with local EAP file

Here is what I mean:
1. Open up a diagram with about 40 elements on it and using the basic renderer pan the image. It moves quite quickly
2. Open up another 20 diagrams and zoom in / out on each one (forcing a change)
3. Go back to your original diagram and right click the diagram tab to "save all diagrams" then right click tab again to "close all other diagrams"
4. Try panning around the original diagram (you opened in 1). Notice how it slows down?

Over the course of a day - the diagram panning speed gets painfully slow.  I think this might extend to general operations such as opening element properties, adding an element to a diagram, moving an element or connector on a diagram.

Is EA garbage collecting properly?
