Quick Start - Add Tagged Value To Elements

You can quickly add a single Tagged Value to one or more elements within a diagram, using a context menu option.


Context Menu

On diagram | Select multiple elements | Right-click on one | Add Tagged Value


Click on one or more elements, and click on icon at right end of the Element toolbar

Keyboard Shortcuts

Ctrl+Shift+T   (on single element in Project Browser, or single or multiple elements in diagram)

On the 'Tagged Values' dialog, in the 'Tag' field, type in the tag name. (Do not use the drop-down arrow to select an existing tag type.)

Tagged Values


In the 'Value' field, type in the value for the tag.


Click on the OK button to add your new Tagged Value to the currently selected elements.


  • To delete the Tagged Value, open the Tagged Values window (Ctrl+Shift+6), click on each element and manually delete the tag from the window
  • To add notes to the Tagged Value, in the Tagged Values window click on the Tagged Value name, and click on the Edit Notes button in the tab toolbar; the 'Notes' dialog displays
  • The notes are displayed in the lower portion of the Tagged Values window (only if the 'Hide Properties Info Section' checkbox is not selected in the 'Window Behavior' tab of the 'Preferences' dialog - select the 'Start > View > Preferences' ribbon option; if you change the setting of this option, you might have to restart Enterprise Architect to make the change take effect)
