How does one search the new web-based User Guide?

There's an EA.chm file distributed with the 12.1 Beta, but it's dated 20-April-2015 - so it's NOT up-to-date.

I don't know what you are seeing, but there's a search field on the top right that says "Search User Guide" when I go to the web-help.

Try resetting your menu if it's not there.

PS. I don't know where your EA.chm is coming from, but it's not part of the 12.1 install.

Ah... I downloaded a local copy of the user guide and was opening the HTML direct....

The EA.chm must be a hang-over from the \EA\ folder that got overwritten by the beta
