How to modify format of TOC
« on: November 09, 2015, 09:49:00 pm »
Hi,
when using virtual documents and generating the doc, it is possible to check, that a table of Content shall be rendered.

The TOC is rendered on a separate page, not being part of the document templates of the master and model documents.

How can I modify the Format?

Regards

You can make your own TOC templates.
Start with a copy of one of the standard templates (portrait or landscape)

Hello Geert,

that's what I already tried.

When doing, it only creates an empty doc template. There is nothing to modify or edit.

I even can't add a TOC in it, because the menu is greyed.

In Addition, it seems to be cumbersome, when I now have to apply all my template formating from the other document templates to get an additional TOC page rendered in the same way.

Ideally the TOC would be in the master page.
But this is also cumbersome.

I have to temporarily add headings, just to be able to add a TOC.
But after having done, how can I modify the format of the TOC?

Regards

Hello Geert,

thanks for the link.
Have you ever done it by yourself?

Your link is just a description how to get a new template, but no description how to do the formatiing itselt.

This is exactly what I was describing in my postings.

The new template has to text for TOC fields to modify.

Even the path of the menu inside the description is wrong
it's not
View -> Resources ...
but
Project -> Resources.

And even if could managed to adopt the Format of the TOC, do you agree that this is a nice way, that the new template also have do be adapted to match the other document templates (master or model template)?

Hello,

I found a way. I added a custom style sheet and modifed that.

In the Stylesheet is a TOC available which makes the formating possible.

I am still looking for a possibility to have a couple of TOCs listing different artifacts than headings, e.g. tables, Images, etc.
