stereotypes with personality
« on: August 11, 2005, 08:40:05 am »
Hi,
I want to know if is possible to associate a certain icon to a specific stereotype. For example I create a new profile with the stereotype
<<MyStereotype>> and I would like that every element that is stereotyped with <<MyStereotype>> to have a certain notations.

Can you help me with this, please?

I really appreciate this, thanks! ;D

Another thing:

When I say that I want to associate a certain icon to a stereotype, I mean in fact that I want that stereotype to have a certain behavior. for example if I define a stereotype to extend a certain metaclass that does not appear on the list of available metaclasses, let's say metaclassX, I noticed that the stereotype that extends this metaclass that EA does not recognize, has associated by default an incon of a class when I use it from the created profile. Even if I associate a certain icon to this stereotype, that I noticed that it is possible using Image_Library, still when I apply the stereotype, will apper something as "Class1" attached. The change of the icon is also not visible when I export the profile and pu it in UML Tools.

I would like that my stereotypes to have different icons associated
in UML Toolbox also.

Please help!!!

Try Configuration/UML/Stereotypes. You can assign own icons as you like. (btw. try using short sentences ::))

A metafile is any EMF/WMF. I use Metafile Companion (once it was free when I downloaded it) to draw icons. You can assign metafiles using the above mentioned dialog  by clicking an existing stereotype and assigning a metafile. You can also add own stereotypes.
