Hi all

I've created an activity diagram that represents our business requirements. Behind the activities are the requirements that will got ot the developers for technical specification.

What I need to do is somehow numerically identify each activity so that they can be referred to by number rather than name. The only way I've been able to do it so far is in the title of the activity or through auto numbering. But this isn't quite what I need. I'd prefer the number to be seperate from the activity title, but is still part of the activity.

Any ideas? Does anyone understand what I mean!!

Use Aliases.

It might also not work

but what about Tags?

Yeah, I tried a tagged value and didn't get what I need it to do.

I think the only possible way is to actually name the activity something like:

"[1.1] Create URL"

Aliases have worked for activities at least since EA 5.0. You need to check the "Use Alias if Available" option on the Diagram Properties dialog. The alias will appear in round brackets above the activity name.

adamb, instead of aliases there are partitions in activities
