Delegation vs UML Validator

In a hierarchy of composite diagrams I connect the port of an 'outer' component to the port of an 'inner' component by using the delegation connector.

The most inner port is resolved by an Association connector from the implementing class to the port.

Isn't this perfectly OK in UML 2.x?

The UML Validator only likes the Association. The Delegations generate warnings of unresolved ports.

Any help on what I'm doing wrong?
