Default Look of Elements
« on: August 16, 2007, 12:59:56 am »
Hi,

the help about "Configure an Element's Default Appearance" and the right menu "Appearance -> Configure Default Apearance" seem either not to woprk or I don't udnerstand it properly.

What I want is: all issues (EA common element 'issue') should have a different backbround colour than the default of EA is.

So I select one Issue, change the "default appearance" and *this* issue gets changed but neither any existing other issue nor any new created issue uses this new _default_ appearance now.

Alternatively I rememberd that you can make a special diagram/package where you put "default elements", I tried to use the "Settings -> Template Package..." but it seems not to work (and I don't find the help for this particular menu entry)

Please anyone who works with user configured default "styles" for elements please enlight me!

1) I don't think (I'm not sure) changing by right click on diagram means to change THE default apereance but change FROM default apereience.
2) I had the same problem with the template package. Don't know how to solve it or if it was solved, I gave up.

Hi

The Configure Default Appearance topic tells you to use the Options dialog to set the default appearance of all elements in your project, and then it tells you how to change the appearance of selected existing elements in a single diagram. To select more than one element, hold [Shift] while you click on each element.

The topic does not tell you how to configure the appearance of a specific type of element throughout the project. For that, try
