Select projects to keep after a DBMS to EAP xfer
« on: October 17, 2013, 09:06:12 pm »
Hi,

I've got to start a migration of EA projects from a DBMS to EAP files.
Given the DBMS holds 10 EA project roots, I need to create a single EAP file for each project root. All projects won't be transferred at the same time (projects 1 & 2 on week 1, projects 3/4/5 on week 2, etc.) so I'll have to run several times the DBMS to EAP project transfer (and flag projects as obsolete once done in the DBMS).

The issue I have is that I cannot select project roots to keep in my EAP. Furthermore, deleting each project require the deletion of the whole content within each project' views. This can obviously take ages based on the content held.

Is there any workaround to help the process of deleting single projects ?

thanks
Guillaume

You have to die one death. Either you transfer the whole repository and delete the unneeded stuff afterwards. Or you export single roots via XMI export but then need to transfer reference data manually. The choice is yours :-/
