Annoying behaviour on BPMN diagrams
« on: February 14, 2014, 06:27:02 pm »
Hi

I noticed a weird and annoying behaviour when you select an activity or another node from a BPMN2 diagram: existing connectors associated with this activity are modified. As a result I often have to move the connector back to where it was.

Could this behaviour be amended so connectors aren't modified upon selection of an activity, gateway or event?

thanks
Guillaume

Hi,

I can be no help here - other than to echo the complaint. My modelers report this as there number one complaint about bpmn modeling in Sparx - connectors moving position on their diagrams. I think ill raise a bug report with Sparx for this one - given how annoying it is !

Regards,

Jon.

Sadly there are quite a few very annoying usability issues that have been around a while and never get fixed.

I've just tried this with the Beta of V11, and I can't promise that your issues have been fixed, but the UI certainly feels a lot more predictable, and behaves more like other EA diagrams. Suggest you give it a go.

A revision to the above posting. I've now used v11 for more BPMN diagrams, and the Sparx boys really have fixed this one. It's not annoying any more at all! Well done! BPMN diagrams are now usable at last !
