Method to change the type of multiple objects
« on: April 09, 2015, 01:29:22 am »
I'm wondering if there is a way to change the type associated with multiple existing objects.

Here's more detail on exactly what I'm trying to do:
I have a lot of existing Use Cases in my model, but we've recently decided to create a new custom type of Use Case that has additional tagged values and associated enumerations, based on our project's needs.  So, I have existing SysML 1.3 Use Case elements that I want to convert to "Project XYZ Use Case" elements.  "Project XYZ Use Case" is an extension of the standard Use Case, so there are just additional tagged values and a new associated shape script.

Is there a way to convert these existing element's types to my new custom element without losing existing data?  I'm hoping there is a way to do this, as many of the Use Cases are used on multiple different diagrams, etc., so trying to go through and manually make all the changes would be extremely time consuming.

The best is to write a little script or (if you're a pro-user) a SQL.
