Linux - problem with XML export

I'm using Enterprise Architect 13 with wine 5.2 on Linux.

I installed everything according to guide: https://sparxsystems.com/enterprise_architect_user_guide/14.0/product_information/enterprise_architect_linux.html

I tried wine 32 and 64 bit modes.

Everything works fine except XML export - all XML exported files are broken.

The same Enterprise Architect 13 run on Windows works fine.

Anyone had similar issue and was able to fix it?

What do you mean by "broken"? In any case you should contact Sparx' support via mail.

Yes, I contacted them and I'm waiting for response.

Broken means:
- XML export from EA running with Wine is different from the one running on real windows
- when exported and imported again - there are errors and drawing cannot be restored
- there are 
 inserted in every line of XML file (I suppose encoded windows end-of-lines)

Seriously looks like a bug. If it gets fixed (who knows) you will only get a fix for the latest EA version. Be prepared.

As a work around: send it through SED and fix it that way.

Maybe problem is somewhere in Wine configuration? I use Ubuntu 18.04 and Wine 5.2 + xml packages from microsoft.

I use crossover at https://www.codeweavers.com/. If you are wiling to invest in a tool like EA and use Linux, crossover is well worth it. You can try a demo before investing. It is a managed wine environment, once set up allows you to export/backup your EA between distros, and across versions.

You may also have luck under Steam for Linux, which uses crossover technology under the hood, but i have not tried it.

Small update: Wine was updated to 5.3.

XML export still works NOK.

I tried also with Enterprise Architect 15 - the same problem.
