UML Profile - <AppliesTo> section missing
« on: July 26, 2010, 05:01:50 pm »
When I create a profile and add new stereotypes than I see often the problem that that the <AppliesTo> section is missing in the generated UML Profile.

Is this a known issue?

There are a number of reasons why that could be happening. Make sure all the elements of your profile have the correct (maybe case-sensitive, depending on which version of EA) stereotypes: classes with «stereotype», classes with «metaclass», associations with «extends» and package with «profile». If you are saving the profile by right-clicking on a diagram, make sure all your stereotype and metaclass classes are on that diagram; If you are saving the profile by right-clicking on the profile package, make sure all your stereotype and metaclass classes are in that package. Make sure your extends associations are pointing in the right direction, from stereotype to metaclass.

If all the above are in order and you're still having problems, please send an XMI export of your profile package to Sparx Support and somebody will be able to investigate further.

PS If you're using generalizations between stereotype classes, some of your stereotypes won't need an <AppliesTo> section; they will inherit it.
