How to order linked elements ?
« on: May 15, 2011, 04:55:36 am »
I have a package that contains requirements, and a package that contains use cases.  I am generating an RTF report that reports out by use case.  For each use case, it lists the requirements satistfied by the use case.  This is part of a larger document template.  I am using the SysML <<satisfy>> link.

I had been unable to determine how to get the requirements list for each use case to be in order of Name (the req. ID).  Until today, I could not figure out how EA was automatically ordering them.

However, it appears that EA orders the requirements linked to each use case by the *opposite* order in which the links were created.  Unless I am missing something, it seems nuts that: (a) EA orders them this way, and (b) there is no way for the user to control the ordering.

Am I missing something really basic here?

                                Thanks, Alan

Yes, Alan, you are as yet unappreciative of EAUI  (EA's Unique Interface)  ;)

There are many aspects of EA functionality that make no sense to us Users.

To see other aspects - search for EAUI using the Search button on the top left - NOT the the text box at top right (another self fulfilling prophesy for EAUI).

HTH,
