Another thing:

When I say that I want to associate a certain icon to a stereotype, I mean in fact that I want that stereotype to have a certain behavior. for example if I define a stereotype to extend a certain metaclass that does not appear on the list of available metaclasses, let's say metaclassX, I noticed that the stereotype that extends this metaclass that EA does not recognize, has associated by default an incon of a class when I use it from the created profile. Even if I associate a certain icon to this stereotype, that I noticed that it is possible using Image_Library, still when I apply the stereotype, will apper something as "Class1" attached. The change of the icon is also not visible when I export the profile and pu it in UML Tools.

I would like that my stereotypes to have different icons associated
in UML Toolbox also.

Please help!!!

General Board / stereotypes with personality

Hi,
I want to know if is possible to associate a certain icon to a specific stereotype. For example I create a new profile with the stereotype
<<MyStereotype>> and I would like that every element that is stereotyped with <<MyStereotype>> to have a certain notations.

Can you help me with this, please?

I really appreciate this, thanks! ;D

Uml Process / Re: missing metaclasses
« on: April 20, 2005, 09:01:11 am »
For my profile I need to define a couple of stereotypes that extends, for example, StructuredClassifier. What exactly should I do in this case? I need that those stereotypes to inherit the features and notation for StructuredClassifier. What did you mean by "In your profile, you would nned to extend each concrete child-metaclass?". Can you be more explicit please? What exactly should I do to define a stereotype which extends one of the abstract metaclasses that I mentioned before. I need to realize my profile conforming to a specification.

It is the same problem with the Property metaclass. I need to define a new stereotype which extends the Property metaclass.

When I add a new metaclass in the diagram there is a list of options for the metaclasses that are available in the tool. Many of the metaclsses that I need to extend are missing.

What is to do in this case?

I need that my profile to respect entirely the specification that is provided to me.

Mabe I miss something. Please help!

Thanks!

Uml Process / missing metaclasses
« on: April 18, 2005, 04:41:39 am »
Hello! It is said that EA fully supports UML 2.0 Specification. Thow, there are many metaclasses from UML 2.0 that are not predefined in EA. I will give some examples:
-StructuredClassifier, Property, Behavior, CallOperationAction, SendObjectAction, Property, ValueSpecification, Namespace, LiteralSpecification, TimeTrigger, Message, AcceptEventAction, CallOperationAction, ReadStructuralFeatureAction, WriteStructuralFeatureAction, and the list goes on.
The problem is that I really nead those metaclasses for realizing a profile using Enterprise Architect. What should I do? If I simply choose  a Class metaclass and then change the name in the desired one it works at a first glance. Thow the problem is deeper. I want that the components from my profile to respect the given notations.
So I really nead to know if is there any posibility to introduce the above metaclasses in the EA so that they would respect the notation from the UML 2.0 specification.
Could I hardcode this somehow?

Thanks!

Any ideas?

Automation Interface, Add-Ins and Tools / invisible add-ins
« on: October 12, 2005, 08:56:00 am »
Hi,

I have an add-in for EA. I register the add-in in the regitry without problems, but the add-in is not loaded in the EA. the menu button that the add-in creates doesn't appear. What could be the problem?

I should mention that I have a Desktop Edition.

Please help me!

Thank you very much!

Or maybe, using JNI might be a solution...What do you recommand?

Hi,

I would need some advice (mabe documentation, examples?) about how to use Automation Interface with Java.

Thanks!

Hi!
Is there any possibility to associate a graphical notation (an image - eventually) to a stereotype that I define using the profile mechanism from EA? Can I do this through the Automation Interface?

Thanks!

Hi,

Can I extend the EA tool itself using the Automation Interface? I would like for example to define some of the metaclasses from UML 2.0 Specification that are not predefined in the tool (for example "StructuredClassifier"). When I create a new profile I would like to make this metaclass appear in the window of predefined metaclasses. I would also like to add the specific features of this metaclass. So, can it be done using the Automation Interface?

Thanks!
