Hey Richard and Geert,

For 1: I'll give the bookmarks a go but my first 5-minute attempt at it didn't work out so I'll have to put some more effort into it. I'll keep you guys updated.

For 2: The example provided was indeed bogus, a quick thing to jolt down to show the desired result (the line in italic). I think it's weird that this isn't possible yet. The information needed is obviously already present. Otherwise you wouldn't be able to specify it and see it in the activity diagrams. It is a mere question of how to get the already present information in the system on the paper in a understandable manner.

Dear all,

We have all our functional documentation in EA 13.5 including our use case scenario's.
Our current documentation generator works sufficient but not the way we truely want it to work.
There are 2 seperate problems I would like to fix.
See the code box below for what we've currently got, copied from the EA template.

Problem 1: "uses" and "results" only when present
With the current structure every step in the scenario has a line with "uses" and "results" but not every step has a "use" or a "result" defined.
The problem is that even though there isn't a "use" or "result" defined, the prefix/label is still shown.
Is there a way to only show the prefix/label when there is a "use" or "result" defined for that step?

Problem 2: No return visible from Exception scenario to Basic scenario.
It's possible to specify where an alternate/exception scenario returns to the basic scenario.
The activity diagram shows this nicely, but not the documentation.

I'm looking for an element in the Package>Element>Scenario>Structured Scenario>Exception called "returning to" or something like that.
The desired outcome look similar to this:

Basic scenario: Going outside
1) detect that it's not raining
          Alternate scenario: It's raining
2) open door
3) get out of the house

Alternate scenario: It's raining
1) Grab umbrella
Return to basic scenario step 2

Is there a way to display the italic line?

Automation Interface, Add-Ins and Tools / Remote start "html export" on server

Dear all,

We have all our functional documentation listed in EA 13.5.
Our goal is to have this exported weekly to a sharepoint which is open to our customers.
We have set up a server specifically for this job.
Once logged onto this server we can run the entire export automated without any problem using a custom build program called EADumpConsole.

The problem we're having is in remote starting this job.
TFS 2017 shows no signs of any errors on the surface.
Once we look into the logging we see the error as listed below.

Can someone help us with figuring out where our problem lies?

I realise this is an old thread but the problem / request still exists partially. When looking at the scenario's you can specify when a step joins back to the basic flow. How do you show this in the generated documentation? The activity diagram shows the return to the basic flow but not the text version.

EA is currently in version 13.5 so I wonder if there have been any updates on this topic so far. This is the sole downside my higher-ups can think of why we shouldn't put all our use cases in EA.

Hello,

I'm designing template for UseCases. I'm using Structered Scenario thing and I like it very much from desinger perspective. However from template reports perspective it's not so excellent.

So I have this structure of sections: Package -> Element -> Scenario -> Structured Scenario -> Exception.

This allows me to generate document with each step of the use case scenario. Also last exception section allows me to put information about alternative flow for that step but only in "basic path" main scenario.
When template evaluates alternative scenario called "Invalid e-mail address" I can't figure out how to put information about where this scenario starts and when joins back main scenario.

What I want to achieve in generated document with similar structure:

Header: Main scenario: ABC
1. Step 1
2. Step 2, Alternative 2a - alternative scenario XYZ - joins at 1.
3. Step 3

Header: alternative scenario XYZ
This scenario starts at step 2 of main scenario and joins back at step 1.
1. Step 1
2. Step 2
3. Step 3
4. Step 4
I managed to have everyting except This scenario starts at step 2 of main scenario and joins back at step 1. sentence in alternative scenario sub-chapter.

I tried to approach this witch custom Fragment, but (to my surprise) EA does not allow me to insert fragment inside Scenario section. (I can insert any fragment inside Element section though).

Any help will be appreciated  8-)
