Sparx Systems announces new tool for Data Distribution Services

Sparx Systems extends its suite of technologies to provide Systems Engineers with a powerful environment for creating Global Data Spaces.

Creswick, Australia (July, 2007) – Sparx Systems today announced the official release of its Model Driven Generation (MDG) Technology for Data Distribution Service (DDS).

Recently adopted by the Object Management Group (OMG) for real-time and embedded systems, DDS is a middleware standard for publish-subscribe communications needs. The standard provides extensive control of Quality of Service parameters, such as reliability and delivery deadlines, which helps overcome bandwidth and platform constraints to maximize performance. DDS implementations are capable of processing high-volume, distributed data streams, often found in financial trade, telecommunications and military systems.

Tightly integrated into Enterprise Architect's UML based modeling environment, MDG Technology for DDS provides both the modeling tools and code generation capability to rapidly design and build distributed data services based on the new DDS standard. MDG Technology for DDS specifically targets the RTI Data Distribution Service platform, provided by Real-Time Innovations Inc, in Java, C or C++.

“This exciting new tool leverages Enterprise Architect’s Model-Driven Architecture capability to generate 100% executable code” says Sam Mancarella, CTO of Sparx Systems. “Now engineers not only have the richness to express their data-centric publish-subscribe services more fluently, they also have the traceability needed to incorporate their Global Data Space into the software development life cycle.”

Sparx Systems will showcase its product suite, featuring the new MDG Technology for DDS at the OMG Real-Time and Embedded Systems Workshop, running from July 9-12 in Arlington, VA USA.
