Extending APM

I have completed the APM Accelerator and now know only enough to be dangerous.
However, I cannot represent some of the key items that our organisation requires unless I understand how I can extend the APM.  Are there instructions anywhere on how to do this?
THe simple example I would like to start with is allowing an additional Integration Type to be available.

Look into MDG technologies and UML profiles.

You'll have to make your own set of stereotypes extending the APM stereotypes.
There is even a possibility to redefine stereotypes, so you don't need to make your own toolboxes and stuff.

Thanks Geert, but you might need to give me some stronger pointers.
Where do I even go to start that?
The obvious spot to me what to go to the Browser >> Resources >> Model Technologies>> APM.
But I can't find any thing here that I can redefine a stereotype or add my own.
